Open space is one of the most important factors most residents of Barrington Hills love about living in the community.

The annual ‘Hills Are Alive’ Festival celebrates the lifestyle residents enjoy and the many organizations and service providers that work hard to help them maintain it.

Started in 2013 by Village President Martin McLaughlin and Village Trustee Colleen Konicek, hundreds of residents look forward to the event each year. Families enjoy pony rides, games, learning about nature, meeting their police and firemen, listening to music, enjoying food & drinks, and taking a long hay ride through a beautifully preserved landscape that is part of the Barrington Hills Forest Preserve.
