The Illinois Tollway invites residents to attend a Public Open House Meeting regarding the Tri-County Access Project, which seeks to address transportation challenges in northern Cook, Lake and Eastern McHenry Counties.  The purpose of the Public Open House is to provide residents the opportunity to tell their issues with travel in the region and to share their ideas on if and how travel could improve.  There will be no formal presentation, however, a short video presentation will be running continuously.

The project area has experienced steady population and economic development growth, but the region’s transportation network and infrastructure have not kept up with the travel demands of those who work, live and visit.  This project represents a comprehensive look that will identify potential solutions to relieve congestion, promote economic vitality, respect the environment and remain fiscally responsible.  It will determine if any action is needed, and if so, how it might be implemented.  It will utilize prior studies and leverage new and emerging technology to move forward.

The project is in its early stage of planning studies, which will conclude with an Environmental Impact Statement.  As part of these early studies, the first two Stakeholder Participation Group (SPG) meetings/workshops were conducted and members were asked to identify transportation priorities.

The Public Open House will be held:
