Fireworks are synonymous with the celebration of Independence Day. Yet, the thrill of fireworks can also cause injury. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, on average, 180 people go to the emergency room every day with fireworks-related injuries around the July 4th holiday.

BH Village Ordinance (8-2-13) prohibits the use or explosion of any fireworks unless a permit has been issued by VBHPD for public display conducted by an individual in the employ of a fireworks display firm. This includes fireworks such as firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets and Roman candles; however, it does not include snake or glow worm pellets; smoke devices; sparklers; trick noisemakers known as “party poppers” or “snappers”. It is worth noting that sparklers burn at nearly 2000 degrees Fahrenheit and accordingly, should be used with extreme caution.
