FOX RIVER GROVE— The Village of Fox River Grove is deeply saddened to announce the passing of former President Robert J. Nunamaker. Nunamaker led the Village for twelve years until he recently stepped away due to health concerns. Prior to serving as Village President, Nunamaker also served on the Fox River Grove School Board and the Village’s Planning & Economic Development Commission. During his tenure, he served on the McHenry County Council of Mayors and was the former Executive Board Chairman of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus.

Nunamaker led the Village through a period of community investment and financial responsibility. His tenure was marked by many successes including securing the Village a new train station facility, the construction of a Public Works facility, and investing over $500,000 in its parks, all while making the Village a debt-free community. During his time at the helm, the Village also celebrated its Centennial Anniversary.

As announced late last week, the Village Board renamed its Village Hall “Robert J. Nunamaker Village Hall” to honor Nunamaker.

Any services held will be private and not open to the public.
