Martin McLaughlin is Village President of Barrington Hills, a business professional, and a financial expert.
McLaughlin has served as President, and now Managing Director, of a private investment advisory firm for the past 22 years. He and his wife, Kathleen have lived in Barrington Hills since 2005, and have raised their five daughters aged 14-27 in this community, the four oldest have graduated from District 220 schools. Their youngest daughter is currently attending middle school.
He has been an active member of the community, serving as chairman of the Barrington Area Council of Governments, and participating as a member of the Executive Board of the Barrington Lions Club. McLaughlin has also spent time coaching soccer at Countryside School (BASA) and coaching Barrington Youth Softball. Martin and his daughters also enjoy raising rare ducks on their property and recently celebrated their first egg being produced.
Martin and his family treasure the serenity and peacefulness of Barrington Hills which serves as a respite from today’s hectic pace, where you can choose to be as socially engaged, or as private as you like. Living in harmonious anonymity is a distinctive aspect of the village, afforded by large lots, long driveways, and wooded streets.
