Lake County is asking residents to review the new National Broadband Map showing where high-speed internet service is–and is not. Verify your address and if you think it’s wrong, submit a “location challenge” to the FCC for a correction. Anyone can do this regardless of which county they reside in.

  1. Go to broadbandmap.fcc.gov to search for your home or small business to see if your location and service availability are accurate. Learn more about using the map
  2. If the information is accurate, no action is needed from you.
  3. If you think the map is incorrect or incomplete, submit a challenge to the FCC to correct it. Learn more about the different types of challenges.

The National Broadband Map is the FCC’s first step toward building comprehensive, standardized maps of broadband availability throughout the U.S. An accurate map will help the FCC identify the unserved and underserved communities most in need of funding for high-speed internet infrastructure investments.

Lake County is working with federal partners to better understand funding availability through the federal $42.45 billion Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program. Residents are encouraged to review the broadband map. This information will be essential in understanding the gaps of high-speed internet service in Lake County.
