A wind advisory has been issued for today prohibiting any open burning.

Per the Village Ordinance, open burning is prohibited when the wind speed exceeds 12 miles per hour. The full Burn Ordinance detailing the restrictions and prohibitions can be found via the link Title 7 Health and Sanitation, Chapter 6 Open Burning.

Concerns about an active open burn should be reported to QuadCom Dispatch Center at 847-428-8784. Ordinance violations may be subject to citations.

The combination of southerly winds gusting to 35-45 mph, very warm temperatures, and dry fuel conditions will cause elevated fire danger this afternoon and evening. Avoid any unnecessary burning or activities with an open flame today.
