2026 Cuba Township Assessment Notices

Message from the Board of Review – Lake County

This is a courtesy reminder that the 2026 assessment notices are in the mail this week for property owners in Cuba Township. The assessment value changes in this township were published August 20th in the Barrington Courier-Review. At the date of publication, 2026 values will be available online. 

Appeal Information

Property owners who decide to appeal their assessed values must do so electronically.
Property owners can appeal their assessment on their own to the Lake County Board of Review. No attorney is required for a residential appeal. Appeals can be done in a few minutes by using the SmartFile E-Filing Portal.

Prior to filing a formal appeal to the Board of Review, read and check your notice for accuracy. Property owners should contact their local township assessor’s office to discuss any concerns (we recommend calling ahead of time prior to visiting in person). 

Note: There is a 30-day deadline from the date of publication to file an assessment appeal. 35 ILCS 200/16-55

The final filing date for assessment appeals in Cuba Township is September 22, 2025.

Property owners can also visit the Chief County Assessment Office located at 18 N. County St., 7th Floor, Waukegan, during normal business hours to receive assistance.
