Ice & Snow, Take It Slow

This afternoon’s weather forecast includes a winter weather advisory in effect from 2 pm to midnight, where residents may expect between 2 & 4 inches of snow.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact today’s commute. The public is asked to slow down and use caution while traveling.

Things to remember when following a snowplow:

• An operator’s field of vision is restricted. If you can’t see them, they can’t see you!

• Use caution around the plows. They move slowly, make wide turns, stop often, overlap lanes and exit the road frequently.

• Snow clouds thrown up by plows can reduce visibility to zero and conceal other vehicles or hazards.

• De-icer spread by the snowplow could hit your vehicle.

• The road behind an active snowplow is safer to drive on. Stay behind it and use caution when passing.
