Monday, May 25, is Memorial Day, a federal holiday dedicated to honoring and remembering members of the US Military who died while serving in the armed forces, not just during war but also in times of peace.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO REMEMBER THOSE WHO SERVED TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOM?

Attend the Village of Barrington’s Memorial Day Parade & Ceremonybeginning at 10:30 AM on May 25, 2026, at the Veterans Memorial on Park Avenue, then proceed west on Main Street, left on Dundee Avenue, and right into Evergreen Cemetery.

The ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery will begin following the parade.

OTHER WAYS TO REMEMBER OUR FALLEN HEROES?
  • Visit cemeteries or memorials and place flowers or flags on graves
  • Participate in moments of silence.  The National Moment of Remembrance is at 3 PM local time.
  • Fly the flag at half-staff until noon.
  • Support veterans’ organizations or military families through volunteering or donations.

In honor of the Memorial Day holiday, Village Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026.
