Upon calling the meeting to order and after the Pledge of Allegiance at last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, President Cecola asked, in memory of Trustee Debra Ann Buettner, for a moment of silence.

With the Board’s approval, a resolution honoring Trustee Buettner’s contributions to the Village of Barrington Hills was moved to the top of the agenda and unanimously approved.

President Cecola expressed his sadness upon the news of her passing and extended his condolences and prayers to her husband, James Hammond, and her family. He shared how he met Trustee Buettner, his fondness for her and her husband, and how her dedication to our community and residents made her the ideal village representative. “Her heart was in it. She loved talking and communicating with the residents,” stated Cecola.

Each board member took a moment to express the impact Debra Buettner had on them, highlighting how she was a wealth of knowledge, her mentorship, the passion and genuineness she had for her community and its residents, and how much her presence will be missed.

Trustee Buettner will be laid to rest at Davenport Family Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday, November 20, from 9 AM until 11 AM. A private service will immediately follow.

A public celebration of Debra’s life will take place at a date, time and location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debra’s name to the National Audubon Society.
