We are in the midst of National Pollinator Month with Pollinator Week, beginning June 22.

This annual observance highlights the important contributions of bees, butterflies, birds, and other pollinators in our ecosystems and food supplies.

Ways you, too, can observe these essential creatures:

  • Create a pollinator-friendly garden by planting native, non-invasive plants that provide nectar and pollen. Stop by Village Hall to pick up FREE “Feed the Bees” wildflower mix, while supplies last.
  • Minimize or eliminate the use of pesticides in your yard or garden.
  • Add a shallow bird bath or a small dish with water and rocks so pollinators can drink safely.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service has compiled documents and resources on Pollinator Conservation and Enhancements that provide a wealth of information. Follow this link to download.
