Rte 68 & Bateman Road IDOT Study

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has begun a Phase I Engineering and Environmental Study for the intersection of IL Route 68 (Dundee Road) and Bateman Road.

This study is focused on:

• Evaluating ways to improve safety and reduce severe crashes
• Exploring different intersection design alternatives
• Understanding potential impacts to the surrounding community and environment
• Improving traffic flow

At this stage, the project is only in the study phase–no construction is currently scheduled. IDOT’S goal is to identify a preferred improvement option that could be considered for future funding.

IDOT will be sharing updates and opportunities for public input as the study progresses. They have indicated that they will hold a Public Community meeting to receive feedback later this year.
