This Saturday, September 11th, also known as Patriot Day, marks the 20th Anniversary of the day 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States, resulting in the deaths of almost 3,000 people. Citizens of 78 countries died in New York, Washing, D.C., and Pennsylvania (https://www.history.com/topics/21st-century/9-11-attacks). A day that has gone down in history and has never been forgotten.

To pay tribute to the fallen, to the heroes and to the victims, consider participating in the Village of Barrington’s Solemn 20th Anniversary Ceremony Saturday, September 11, at 10 AM, Memorial Park and/or contribute to the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund: https://www.vcf.gov/.

Memorial Park is at the corner of IL 59/Hough St. & Lincoln Ave., downtown Barrington.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
