Darby Hills Appointed to Fill Unexpired Term of the Late Trustee Debra Buettner

The Board of Trustees held a Special Board Meeting Friday, January 7, 2022, in which to provide advice, consent and approval of President Brian D. Cecola’s appointment of Darby Hills to fill the unexpired term of Trustee Debra Buettner, whose death created a vacancy in the Office of Village Trustee.  The motion passed with a 5-1 vote.

Newly appointed Darby Hills graduated from the University of Iowa and earned her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.  She brings her legal knowledge to the Village Board from her experiences as an arbitrator, mediator and Cook County State’s Attorney where she concentrated on child welfare, and from her days as a labor and employment attorney at Jackson Lewis, LLP working on behalf of corporations.

Together with her husband, Thomas, and three children, Appointee Hills has resided in Barrington Hills for 15 years. She is actively involved in many of the Barrington Area non-profit organizations.  In 2010, the Hills co-founded Barrington Children’s Charities to help local children living in food-insecure homes.

“Her nature of helping others and giving back to the community will be a great fit.  Her heart is always in the right place.  I am happy that Darby has accepted this appointment,” said President Cecola.

Welcome soon-to-be Trustee Darby Hills and Congratulations!
