Monarch-on-Swamp-Milkweed-CFC

 

Citizens for Conservation is offering “Butterflies on the Prairie” on Saturday, August 11th from 1-3 PM.  The program is for kids ages 6-14 and offers the chance to take a walk at Flint Creek Savanna to find butterflies and caterpillars.

Experienced and new volunteers of all ages are welcomed to participate in CFC’s restoration workdays every Thursday and Saturday from 9-11 AM.

 

Online ordering for Conservation’s Fall Native Tree and Shrub Sale begins on August 13th.  To order, go to citizensforconservation.org where there are plant descriptions, growing conditions and habitat benefits.  If you prefer a paper order, download a form from the website, request by email cfc@citizensforconservation.org or call 847-382-7283.  The plant sale order deadline is August 31st, and plant pickup is Saturday, September 15th from 9:30 AM to Noon at CFC.

The Barrington Greenway Initiative’s Explore and Restore August Program will be a hike at Penny Road Pond on Saturday, August 25th from 9-11 AM. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and mosquito repellant, and don’t forget to bring water.  All ages are welcome.
