At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, March 18, 2024,  Police Chief Joseph Colditz announced he plans to retire this summer, tentatively mid-July. 

He began serving our community in 1998 and rose through the ranks to become Police Chief in 2019. He came to Barrington Hills from the Cary Police Department where he began his law enforcement career in 1989. 

The Board expressed their heartfelt appreciation for his dedicated service and expressed he will be missed. If you, too would like to express your appreciation, email info@vbhil.gov.

The Village has initiated efforts to fill the Police Chief position to ensure a smooth transition once Colditz has retired.
