At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, Police Chief Joseph Colditz was recognized for his 25 years of service to the Village of Barrington Hills.

President Brian Cecola summarized his many years of service, highlighting his several department awards and commendations including the Chief’s Award for Meritorious Service and the Cook County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Award of Merit.

President Cecola also shared that the Department will soon undergo its seventh CALEA law enforcement accreditation, the second while under Chief Colditz’s leadership. The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) sets a gold standard in public safety services which includes comprehensive law enforcement standards and recognizing professional excellence.
