Recycling event set to take place in Aurora on June 5th

The event is free and open to residents of Illinois.

 

Residents are encouraged to register for an upcoming hazardous waste recycling event to dispose of certain hazardous household materials. The event will be held on June 5, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 306 N. River Street in Aurora.
 
At this event — made possible through a partnership of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Kane County, DuPage County and the city of Aurora — you can dispose of your household cleaners, fertilizers, pesticides, auto fluids, oil-based paints and stains and much more.
 
Event guidelines:
 
  • Place all materials in your trunk or back seat so workers can collect it and maintain social distance. Also please wear a mask while interacting with event workers.
  • Business, institution and agriculture waste will NOT be accepted.
  • Please carpool with neighbors to bring your hazardous waste materials for safe disposal.
  • Please clearly label and safely package all waste materials and stay in your vehicle at event.
