The month of May, here at Village Hall, began with a special Board of Trustees meeting in which our newly elected Village President and Trustees were sworn into office.  The right to vote is among our many personal freedoms.  May concludes with Memorial Day, Monday, May 31– a day that commemorates all the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the US Military.    “Freedom isn’t free.”

However you choose to spend the day on Monday, the 31st, please observe a moment of silence to remember and commemorate our fallen heroes. We salute, honor and thank all the servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice!

Show your support by attending the Memorial Day Ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery, Monday, May 31 @ 11 AM, 610 S. Dundee Avenue, Barrington.

The TriCities VFW Post 2298 in West Dundee has organized the annual Memorial Day Parade and Program: 2:00PM – 4:00PM at Main Street, from Van Buren to Fifth Street.

The parade steps off at Van Buren Street in East Dundee at 2 PM and progresses westward to Grafelman Park in West Dundee where a program remembering our fallen servicemen and women will follow.

Village Hall offices will be closed Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day.  For emergencies, dial 911.  For non-emergencies and/or roadway concerns, dial Quadcom Police Dispatch at 847-428-8784.
