Sunday, March 10: Clocks move forward one hour

Sunday, March 10, at 2 AM, clocks move forward one hour due to Daylight Saving Time.

One more hour of sunshine!

Daylight Saving Time is a great reminder to check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Smoke alarms with sealed 10-year batteries are good for up to 10 years. If the alarm chirps, the battery is low and the entire unit needs to be replaced ASAP.

If your smoke alarm has batteries, today is a good day to change them. Batteries should be replaced every year.

Illinois updated its Smoke Alarm Law effective January 1, 2023. Follow the link for new smoke alarm guidelines and exemptions.
