VBH Welcomes Newest Police Officer

The Village welcomes its newest hire, Police Officer Marko Lazic, who was sworn into office at the August 18th, 2026, Board of Trustees meeting.
Police Chief Kyle Murphy introduced Officer Lazic, sharing his personal background and life’s journey, including that he attended Northeastern Illinois University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus in Criminology. Chief Murphy went on to share that Officer Lazic brings 13 years of law enforcement experience with him, having served Cook County and the Village of Addison. Chief Murphy highlighted the areas of Lazic’s expertise, which have earned him an excellent reputation in community policing.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, and in keeping with tradition, Officer Lazic’s wife pinned his badge on him in front of a room filled with family, friends, and fellow Department Members who came to show their support.
We are excited to welcome Officer Lazic to our team and look forward to his contributions to the Barrington Hills community,” said Police Chief Kyle Murphy.
Officer Lazic has begun the Department’s Field Training program and will continue working alongside fellow officers as he becomes familiar with the Village and our community.
