18 Tons/36,000 Pounds Weight Limit to Remain

Builders rejoice!

The Village engineer has reviewed road conditions and weather forecasts and has recommended the Village not post the roads for reduced weight restrictions at this time.

This winter season has been extremely mild and the ground thawed out earlier this month. Long-term weather forecasts show mild temperatures for the remainder of February and into March. With reduced chances of additional freeze/thaw activities, assuming average precipitation levels for spring, the Village Engineer does not recommend posting weight restrictions on Village-maintained roadways this season.

Any vehicle and/or load combination thereof exceeding 18 tons/36,000 pounds, accessing Village-maintained roads, is required to obtain an overweight permit.

The overweight permit application is submitted online via OxcartPermits.com, or via Barrington Hills’ website via the Government tab.
